Brian, can you add a Comment under Semantics called pjh-01 linked to this, to the effect that the Semantics document should have some prose added to section 3.4 to clarify this point (that RDF doesn't provide any way to define new datatypes). http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-rdf-comments/2003JanMar/0209.html http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-rdf-comments/2003JanMar/0210.html I think we need to make this very clear, it's obviously not spelled out adequately at present.
