There was definitively a lot of support, but I'm not sure I'd call it 
"rough consensus". Anyway, as RFC2518bis seems to be stuck (little 
progress in the last year and no progress at all in the last six 
months), it makes a lot of sense to put that option back on the table.

On the other hand, I don't want to distract from the BIND last-call, so 
maybe we should discuss this in a few weeks.
