They need the occasional notification of major changes--which Tab and Marcos make sure to manually post to this list. Therefore what the digests end up doing is lowering the signal:noise ratio of this list... which makes it less likely that spec editors will want to subscribe, and less likely that those who do will notice and pay attention to the other discussions on this list. And that lowers the ability of this list to be an effective communication forum for W3C spec editors. If weekly digests are useful to some people, we should have an ML dedicated to them so those people can opt in. ~fantasai
