a dynamic index of sparql endpoints

assuming I manage to figure out what I am tryng to think of-

could be useful to have a dynamic index that crawls the web
for sparql endpoints ( not sure if  DMOZ still fulils the function, if
so equivalent)


is there any such thing?
if not, why not?

(possibly rethorical questions)
