Dear AJ, I think that you could be interested in taking a look at SOIP-F (http://seip.cefriel.it); we have been developing for some years a framework to support the development of Semantic Organizational Information Portals. We designed a minimalist portal ontology that contains information about navigation, access and presentation of contents within the portal. Each portal, therefore, offers access to the domain-specific knowledge base by mapping the portal ontology to the domain ontology. More details can be found in: Celino, Della Valle "Multiple Vehicles for a Semantic Navigation across Hyper-environments", published at ESWC2005 (that you can download from http://swa.cefriel.it/Publications#soip-f_publications). I see upgrade of business web site to take advantage of the emerging semantic web is a good application. It could become a potential driver for enterprises to publish data in semantic format. I also believe that wide adoption of such semantic upgrade requires a community-supported ontology, which ideally comes out of W3C. I would like to ask if any of you is interested in participating in developing such an ontology for enterprise web site. I guess it may trigger W3C to consider it as a potential task if there are sufficient interests. So, please make your voice heard regarding semantic web site ontology.
