I've created a page on the ESW Wiki called Attention RDF [1] with the aim of working towards an RDF model for attention data. Like the other "micromodels" [2] this will be format-neutral, but as the clearest specification of this domain is Attention.xml [3] (a XHTML-based microformat), that is used as a starting point. The general idea is that Web user focus, what their attention is on, is valuable data. Examples include RSS subscriptions lists and browsing behaviour (click counts etc). Making good use of this leads to quite a broad data integration scenario (personal information, online activities, syndication, content management, calendaring, media, geo, buying, selling, trust, metrics etc etc...), exactly the kind of thing Semantic Web technologies are designed for. Once a reasonable RDF model is in place, it'll be possible for applications which produce/consume attention data to interoperate at a level above syntax, and it'll be easier to develop applications that can use the data (even if the RDF/OWL model isn't used directly, tools for managing the data can be created semi-automatically). Please feel free to edit the page as appropriate. Cheers, Danny.
