Norm, members of the XML Processing Model WG: [ cc'd public xmlsec list] The XML Security WG has been chartered to review use cases and requirements related to XML Canonicalization, XML Signature and other XML Security specifications in order to update these core specifications appropriately [1]. Algorithms, security and performance are of specific interest. We are very interested in use cases and requirements from the XML Processing Model working group related to XML Security. Have you considered interactions with XML Signature and XML Encryption and have any resulting requirements (or use cases) that the XML Security WG should take into consideration? Would it make sense to consider XML Signature/Verification and Encryption/Decryption as steps in a pipeline? If so, would that impose requirements on XML Signature and XML Encryption, especially with regards to serialization or other assumptions? We are currently working on a draft requirements document so any input you have would be timely. Thank you regards, Frederick Frederick Hirsch, Nokia Chair XML Security WG [1] http://www.w3.org/2008/02/xmlsec-charter.html This message should complete XML Security WG ACTION-35
