default root element on p:output and p:input

There maybe scenarios where the result of processing unpredictably or
sometimes returns just a textual value......it is easy enough to use
the p:wrap when you 'know' this scenario will occur, but we may want
the ability to default wrap some default root element on textual data
only when this occurs.

perhaps this is a top level element/attribute/flag....not sure, but
the first question is has this been discussed yet?
