Breaches of Privacy are what will drive change

hello,

Over the course of the SWXG different people have asked to whom and why does
privacy in social networks matter. Of course, some have their own firmly
held convictions regarding personal privacy, but we all have observed that
the majority of social networking service users don't share these values.

Unless, and until, that is....they read in mainstream media what happens to
other people as a result of lack of education and use of privacy controls.

I doubt any of us can relate to and compare ourselves with the proposed Head
of British Intelligence, however, there is a bit of a lesson in this recent
mishap:

Perhaps the Privacy Task Force can catalog a few of these examples to enrich
their user stories with real life testimonials.
