Dominic thanks for the update (also Mark, thanks for the report on separate email, looks like neat efforts) re PFIF I could not find what version of the schema is being used, is it the same as in 2005, or have there been any changes that you know of? I am asking cause, among other things, there was an RDF version of it made by peter mika http://wiki.foaf-project.org/w/PositionPaper ( my paper, presented in Berlin in 2006 if I remember) if the RDF is still valid (ie the schema has not changed) maybe it can still be used, and tie in with our W3C EIIF efforts Will try to see if have some hours to help with tasks as per the wiki Let us know if you need speciiic help with something cheers PDM 2010/1/17 Dominic König <dominic@nursix.org> > Hi all, > > I really appreciate Google's leadership on providing a central People > Finder > application for Haiti, especially because their outstanding visibility > encourages data entry to only one site, and their ongoing data collection > and > consolidation efforts facilitates high quality of data. > > Moreover, ICRC FamilyLinks and Google People Finder are now connected using > the PFIF data transfer, which makes Google's application yet more > worthwile. > > Thus, we all should not try to provide an alternative place of missing > person > data entry for Haiti, but focus on interoperability. > > Google's People Finder API (enabled this morning, see > http://haiticrisis.appspot.com/developers) makes it possible to directly > fetch and send PFIF data, which works perfectly with SahanaPy.
