Bon Soir Coralie, I hope you had a good weekend. Thank you for your document, it did help clear up a lot of our questions. In order to ensure that we deliver to you a proposal that is of top quality, my team just had the below questions left over, which we would appreciate your steer on; General 1. "The W3C Website Redesign.pdf refers to proceeding in phases. Specifically with regards to updating the home page, navigation... Do you envision updated code to partially replace existing code (yet not all) or can a proposal for a complete frontend code release be put forward. (connected to question above)" 2. "You mention that the website is hard to navigate. Can you provide further details (test results / user feedback) of specific failings. What evidence/data will be used to judge ideas put forward within a RFP?" 3. "It is referenced that the site / content needs to help push users to donate. Can you confirm how donation is actioned? (i.e on crowdsourcing sites or in site systems) What if any help is required by the winning team in content creation for this?" 4. Does the scope of the brief include the developers section on the website? 5. Does the scope of the brief include the member section on the website? 6. "Should our proposal include: User research to include UX and design? User research to include IA development?" 7. What is the scope of user research you are expecting? i.e number of countries, locations, disabilities (as mentioned but to what level?) End user specifications 1. What devices, screen sizes, browsers and browser versions are to be catered for? Can a list for planning, development and testing purposes be provided?" Change management & deployment process 1. "Is any change management processes used at W3C? If so what are they and what are the normal time frames?" 2. Is there a staging environment available? 3. Is there a UAT environment available? 4. Please describe the W3C process for updating and releasing code (frontend and backend) 5. Are any CI (continuous integration) tools in use? Hosting 1. Please describe, and if possible provide documents relating to, the current the server/hosting environment. 2. What is the current Operating System in use and what is the current version of the OS? Version control & task tracking systems 1. Which Version Control System is in use? Will the winning agency be provided access?" 2. What bug tracking/ approval system is in use? Can the winning agency be provided access or are you prepared to use ours?" 3. Does the client have a preferred document/project management system? Can the winning agency be provided access or are you prepared to use ours?" 4. What is W3C's testing and acceptance plan? Code licensing 1. Does the current build utilise any code libraries that require licensing? If so, please list." 2. Are custom fonts required? If so, please list." 3. Which licensing model do you wish to use? (Own the source code, license for this project, escrow.) 4. Are license fees paid directly by W3C or included as additional costs by the agency? Content management systems 1. Can we receive architectural documents for current back end services? Security 1. Do you perform your own Penetration testing? If so, which tools do you use?" 2. Is personal data capture is required? Who is responsible for data-security and management?" 3. Who is responsible for security and will they be available during the consultancy phase? Content 1. What is W3C's content strategy? Does W3C require the winning agency to update all content or perform reviews and recommendations to the W3C content team?" 2. Please confirm content migration is assisting W3C developers migrate content from the old CMS into the new one? We presume this would be completed via a script(s) instead of a manual migration? And that it would depend on current database structure compared to the new version within a new CMS." Regards, Jamie On 29/11/2019, 14:52, "Coralie Mercier" <coralie@w3.org> wrote: Hi Jamie! Bien, merci :) > > Since our last exchange of emails I’ve been working towards the submission deadline of getting our proposal sent to you. However through working with the delivery specialists (Cc’d), they have come up with a number of questions which have come to surface while pulling together our proposal. We pushed a FAQ earlier today: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.w3.org_2019_11_website-2Dredesign-2Drfp.html-23faq&d=DwIFaQ&c=63k7DFQ5NS45K8Wu5uX9Pd1gEa70c_pznLjIw3OxEiE&r=XIY5dzsfTYa9KnKvlZEKbXFYcmN1PhXnIov306sNN7siOaNa5xmFeky6tNU-bOwX&m=5uMxeksqH5jJsLE6-S4kS1or8PUNa71YyK6-ksnd9gE&s=ecH8uxqsUyPooYC-TpY-kVcmnjhGKFENZ9B4CoJhm-A&e= A number of your questions are covered. Possibly not all. (see next inline response) > As we were still within the time frame of clarification questions being submitted, we thought we would take the opportunity to ask these questions and we’ve captured them in the attached spreadsheet for ease of reply. Are you able to go over the FAQ and submit those questions that it does not cover? Please, send them in text form; I’m sorry to say that excel does not make it easy for me to reply. Thanks!
