I got an email from the Google+ Team saying I was able to get a custom URL. >From clicking the link in the email it brought up a modal that had a link to let me chose something other than the reserved name. So perhaps whomever got the email (Doug I'd assume is the original owner) will have the ability to request a custom URL. However, if we already have a custom URL assigned, then we may need to figure out if there is some way we could get a contact in the G+ Team to get a manual change.
