Thanks much, Garbee. Are we going to do a google hangout? J

As of right now it looks as if 3PM (EDT/EST whatever we are on now) is the best time for the hangout. So unless something major happens overnight in the poll plan for that time Thursday.

In my experience there are usually a couple of good interactions or clarifications in a live session that aren't in the pre-existing notes. That's what I'd be looking to capture. A long recording mostly to grab a few snippets, but usually worth the effort (and easy enough to hit delete if nothing useful was added).

As far as recording, it is a simple switch in the hangout for me to record it if we want to. I'm not seeing where the hangout will be too usable as "training material" since it will be an outline, but mostly made up as we are there. It isn't going to flow too well most likely and will be hard to find exactly what people want.

I am going to do videos on things as I make the docs (save updating WPD:filing_bugs which will be text-first and images so it isn't outdated.) That way for all instructions we have nice videos for people that want them. The hangout won't be near as usable as the direct videos, I'm honestly not seeing a need for recording that.

If you want though, just ask if anyone has any objections beforehand. I personally don't care.

Thanks, Julee. Good thing I didn't check anything earlier than 11am.

Hi, DougM:

The poll's in EDT. And I don't think it adjusts for your time.

Thanks. Would anyone object if I attempted to record it, for reuse in training materials? Obviously we'd want the source videos if they're reusable, but getting any live demos or interactions or discussion will help avoid missing anything important.

Also, what time zone is that Doodle poll? Did it auto-adjust for my time?

1) oops, link is http://doodle.com/vmggf38k8pmkg7eu

2) the hangout itself may or may not be recorded. I am planning specific videos that will be available.

Will it be recorded (including video)? That should at least provide us a crude draft of a training piece. If my laptop recovery proceeds on timeline I should be able to volunteer to attempt to transcribe and edit it.

Hi Garbee!

Looking forward to the show. We need the link to the Doodle poll.

I am working on getting bugs moved from Bugzilla into The Bug Genie over the next two days, I should be able to have most if not all of them ported over in that time.

So, on Thursday I would like to try and have a hangout with interested people to show off the system and how to use it (since we won't have any real documentation on it for the moment.) For anyone interested in joining Thursday I have made a Doodle Poll [1] to try and find the best time. Assume the timezone is EST and do remember we jumped ahead an hour this week (because we still do that stupid stuff.)

Things to be covered:
* Filing a new issue.
* Changing and submitting issue fields
* Adding related issues to an issue
* Getting notified on an issues status that you haven't edited or commented on.
* Searching issues (yes, this can be confusing the first few times since the links work in a seemingly odd way.)
* Configuring milestones
** Adding issues to a milestone.
* Possibly team stuff if I can figure out how people actually join a team without an admin manually doing it. Otherwise this will be something I cover in the docs and/or another standalone video later on.

Is there anything that anyone wants to be talked about outside of that list? I'm trying to not cover more administrative things like managing the ACL since that can be a whole hour or so to itself. Perhaps a quick overview of that will be given if we have the time.
