For a few more data points on the sort of diversity you can come across
at W3C wrt. WG Charters:

(free for all, anyone can join, hundreds of WG members)

(working on over 38 specifications for standardization at the same time)

(proof that persistence pays off in the end)

(tackling a very hard issue with a huge problem space)

These selections are meant to demonstrate that this group is not unique
in the approaches that it's taking.
