As far as I know, practically all client-side payment-innovation the last 5 years have been targeting mobile devices, regardless if the "Wallet" is a SIM, App, or a more advanced system like Apple Pay. Now imagine an iPhone with two [disparate] wallets. It simply put won't happen. A market-oriented Web-effort should therefore hook into the native Wallet level and let server-wallets like PayPal take another path which probably spells FIDO. Trying to support everything is a cool idea but would at this humble stage [1] be a research project, something which is unlikely to be what most members are hoping for.
