Melvin, I describe WebID is an Identifier with the following characteristics: 1. HTTP URI 2. Identifies an Agent 3. Resolves to a Profile Document (a/k/a a WebID-Profile doc) 4. WebID-Profile document contains RDF Language statements that describe Profile Subject 5. RDF-Turtle is the default content-type of a WebID-Profile doc . In regards to #5, Turtle isn't the only option. It is simply the default in the spec. Our WebID + WebID-Profile generating app [1] produces WebID-Profile documents based all the existing RDF doc content types [2][3][4], and that includes JSON-LD [5]. This is a burden we've taken on strategically so that we can target a wider audience with our solutions e.g., JSON-LD for "Web Developers" and Turtle for end-users, system architects, and anyone else for whom entity relationship semantics are deemed an important part of data representation, access, and integration.
