FW: Daylight Saving Time (DST) change -- first half of 2021

Folks,

This is just a friendly reminder that the change to daylight savings time is upon us, and it will affect our WG Zoom call timing for some participants.

According to a long-standing W3C practice (that goes all the way back to the first deployment of the W3C Zakim conference bridge hosted by MIT), the teleconferences have been scheduled according to US clock (Boston time, to be historically accurate). Most of the US and Canada will switch to DST on this coming Sunday, March 14th. Most of the EU countries will move to DST two weeks later, on Sunday March 28th, and participants from other that do not change their clocks will be affected by this time change until fall.

Please make sure that if you take it into consideration when adjusting your schedule for DST changes.

Thank you,
Vlad

Dear Chairs,

This is a Semi-annual reminder of the upcoming Daylight Saving Time
(DST) change:
       https://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/2021a.html

Most of the US and Canada will be moving their clocks forward on Sunday,
14 March. This is two weeks earlier than Europe. Most European clocks will move 1 hour forward on Sunday, 28 March.

Between 14 March and 28 March, the teleconferences that are scheduled according to the US clock will start *one hour earlier* in local time for most Europeans.

China, Japan and Russia do not observe DST, which means the time difference between these areas and US/Europe will be one hour less than it currently is.

For locations that observe DST in Australia and New Zealand, their clocks will shift back on Sunday, 4 April.

Please share this information with your groups, as it will have an impact on teleconferences. If you are unsure about the scheduled time of any teleconference, please confirm the time arrangements with your meeting host.

The meeting planner tool below may be helpful to find the time for your web meeting across time zones:
