FW: Welcome, and introductions

Christopher,

Welcome to the WebFonts working group, we are happy to see you join as a newest member of the WG. I am forwarding you the introduction Chris Lilley has sent to the group just a few days ago. You can find all previously sent messages and member introductions in the group's public archive: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webfonts-wg/

Please introduce yourself to the group and, once again, welcome!

Regards,
Vladimir

Subject: Welcome, and introductions

Hello public-webfonts-wg,

A few folk mailed me to check they were subscribed ok and to ask what was happening. So, a quick welcome message seems in order.

if you are on this list then your AC Rep has nominated you to the WG (if you work for a W3C Member organization). Or, you are an approved Invited Expert. Or, you are W3C staff. In any case the list membership is database backed and tied to the patent Policy; you don't need to do anything extra to join.

We seem to have most of the organizations who said they would join, now. I have hopes for a few others, and we may have one or two more invited experts also.

So, to kick things off, please send a mail to this list introducing yourself - what is your background, what are your hopes for this WG, what is your level of existing W3C experience (e.g. other WGs). Also, what time zone you are in (which will help us plan a suitable teleconference time).

(The introductions will also allow me to check that everyone subscribed can send to the list.)
