No plans that I know, but every now and then there's a group of people
advocating we turn <form> into a more capable declarative form of
XMLHttpRequest. See http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/195 and
http://cameronjones.github.io/form-http-extensions/index.html Not sure
whether there is any implementer interest.
