Dear Advisory Committee representative,
Chairs,

The Web Platform Working Group charter [1] is hereby extended until 31
March 2019.

Extended in September 2018 [2], the Web Platform Working Group has
continued its mission, pending ongoing negotiations between WHATWG and
W3C to provide a single authoritative specification for HTML and DOM.

While progress in this negotiation has been made since November there is
no agreement in place yet. The previous recommendation regarding having
no REC track advancement for a subset of the documents still applies [2].

The Working Group has been preparing a re-charter proposal in the
meantime, adding new deliverables as suggested by the ongoing work in
the Web Incubator Community Group. A draft charter for a Web
Applications Working Group is available at:

   https://w3c.github.io/charter-drafts/webapps-2019.html

Additionally, Léonie Watson's affiliation has changed from The Paciello
Group (TPG) to TetraLogical and she is re-appointed. Marcos Caceres
(Mozilla) and Charles McCathie Nevile (ConsenSys) remain as co-Chairs.

Information on how to participate in this group is available [3]. More
information about the Web Platform Working Group can be found on its
home page [4].

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact
Philippe Le Hegaret <plh@w3.org>.

This announcement follows section 5.1 and section 5.2.5 of the W3C
Process Document:
