Hi All - the Mobile Web Best Practices WG seeks comments, by August 6, on LCWD #2 of: Mobile Web Application Best Practices <http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/WD-mwabp-20100713/> If you have any comments, please send them to: public-bpwg-comments@w3.org <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-bpwg-comments/> -Art Barstow -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Mobile Web Application Best Practices: Last Call Working Draft Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2010 13:22:59 +0200 From: ext Francois Daoust <fd@w3.org> Hello WebApps WG, Device APIs and Policy WG, HTML WG, SVG WG, WAI Coordination Group, I18n Core WG, CSS WG Chairs, This is a transition announcement for the second Last Call Working Draft of the Mobile Web Application Best Practices, published on Tuesday at: http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/WD-mwabp-20100713/ This document was developed by the W3C Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group in accordance with its charter [1]. It specifies Best Practices for the development and delivery of Web applications on mobile devices. Record of the Working Group's decision to publish the specification as Last Call may be found at [2]. Status ref. patent policy is available at [3]. The Last Call review period extends until 6 August 2010. The document returned to Last Call from Candidate Recommendation based on implementation feedback: three best practices were demoted as best practices and moved to advisory notes as the group did not receive sufficient evidence that they can be considered as best practices. These notes are: - Consider Use of Canvas Element or SVG For Dynamic Graphics - Inform the User About Automatic Network Access - Provide Sufficient Means to Control Automatic Network Access Your groups already reviewed the first Last Call working draft back in October 2009. The Mobile Web Best Practices working group does not anticipate more substantive changes at this point, and rather expects to be able to request direct transition to Proposed Recommendation at the end of the review period and once the implementation report has been completed [4]. If your group wants to submit a review but is unable to provide it in that timeframe, please let us know so that we can determine a possible extension of the review period.
