Stuart, All, Given the group's last discussion on this subject [1], my expectation is we will continue to focus on our use case [as chartered] and our general plan remains the same as we discussed with TAG members on October 21 [2]. See [3] for a thread we had regarding that October 21 discussion. Regarding notifying the TAG when related test cases are available, I created an Action for that request [4] and will notify you when those test cases are available. -Regards, Art Barstow [1] <http://www.w3.org/2008/10/30-wam-minutes.html#item03> [2] <http://www.w3.org/2008/10/20-wam-minutes.html#item12> [3] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webapps/2008OctDec/ 0197.html> [4] <http://www.w3.org/2008/webapps/track/actions/282> Begin forwarded message: > From: "ext Williams, Stuart (HP Labs, Bristol)" <skw@hp.com> > Date: November 21, 2008 9:57:08 AM EST > To: Arthur Barstow <art.barstow@nokia.com> > Cc: "tag@w3.org" <tag@w3.org>, "www-archive@w3.org" <www- > archive@w3.org> > Subject: Widget Addressing Timescales and Test Cases. > > Art, > [cc'd to www-archive@w3.org to enable public reference] > > I picked up an action [1] item from yesterdays TAG telcon to > respond that the TAG does not believe that it has the capacity to > solve the widget addressing problem within a 3 month timeframe as > mentioned/discussed when members of the TAG met with your WG [2]. > > I think it would also be true to say (as I believe we aready have) > that the TAG is more interested in general solution to the problems > of refering into packaging structures (and maybe runtime 'objects' > instantiated from such structures) as opposed to addressing a > solution targetted soley on requirements for widget packaging/ > referencing. > > I don't know quite what 'balls' this leaves in what 'courts' right > now - it would be good to check expectations all round. > > The TAG also asks that that you notify us when relevant test cases > for URI based widget referencing become available. > > Thanks > > Stuart Williams > (for W3C TAG) > -- > [1] http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/group/track/actions/196 > [2] http://www.w3.org/2008/10/20-wam-minutes.html#item12 > AB: where do we do follow up? www-tag? > DanC: yes > ... what's the time scale? > MC: we want to finish this within 3 months. > DanC: are there any test cases for this? > MC: no > ... we're starting an implementation now > > Hewlett-Packard Limited registered Office: Cain Road, Bracknell, > Berks RG12 1HN > Registered No: 690597 England > > [Tracker: this is TAG ACTION-196]
