@calidion We’ve discussed the HTML method before (see https://github.com/w3c/manifest/issues/676#issuecomment-439747607). Unfortunately, this method does not support a critical use case: when the user changes the OS language setting, the OS must immediately apply the localized names, icons, etc. of the installed web application. Hence, the localized information must already be included in the manifest.
