I totally missed this conversation when it happened, but this has been on my mind for a while now too. I’m in agreement with @mgiuca that we should keep it simple. For a large percentage of apps out there, static will be enough. a second version can add to that (perhaps even allowing for custom layouts like player controls for a picture-in-picture video player or audio stream). Not knowing this conversation was taking place, I’d been working on an explainer as well: https://github.com/MicrosoftEdge/MSEdgeExplainers/blob/master/Shortcuts/explainer.md It has a lot of similarities to what is being proposed currently.
