I am just saying how things happened at the meeting and what our state of information was at the moment. I don't think anyone wanted to deprecate Input events, especially for \<input> and \<textarea>. This was merely about a new \<contenteditable=[X]> for which we were about to define events. If Apple and Google come to the agreement that they want to keep the beforeEdit and Edit events, I believe we will have to put the Input event for \<input> and \<textarea> back into uievents. contenteditable=true is not specced anyway, so it doesn't behave according to spec anyway. --- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/w3c/editing/issues/87#issuecomment-137357154
