Thanks for the info. Per your request, here's another similar effort I'm aware of. It was demonstrated in the NAB Labs Futures Park (which I manage) at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas last April.

My team at the BBC just shared information on a recent project aiming to build a (physical) TV prototyping platform using HTML5 and open standards.
