In the same vein, (and from the same discussion) I would like to present my “Ad Topic Hints” proposal: https://github.com/privacycg/proposals/issues/26 We will be discussing it in the Privacy CG this Thursday as well. It is an alternative approach to putting people in charge of the types of ads they see. —Ben Sent from my iPhone On 23 Jun 2021, at 14:53, Wendy Seltzer <wseltzer@w3.org> wrote: Thanks Valentino, I'll be happy to put PAURAQUE on next week's agenda (though it appears one would have to visit southern Texas or further south to see one[1]). It seemed like many from both publisher, exchange, user agents and buyers agree that making the user be in charge of their profile in the browser and storing it in the browser could be a good path forward, provided it comes with the right guarantees. https://github.com/AdRoll/privacy/blob/main/PAURAQUE.md PAURAQUE is NextRoll's attempt at starting discussion on this topic by offering a very basic outline of how it could work with a few open questions around areas that would need some more thought. Happy to hear your feedback and maybe talking about it as part of one of the next meetings. We intent this spec to work in conjunction with the many specs released so far, so it's not a replacement for anything, just an idea. cheers! -- Valentino Volonghi CTO, Founding Team dialtone@nextroll.com -- Wendy Seltzer -- wseltzer@w3.org +1.617.715.4883 (office) Strategy Lead and Counsel, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) https://wendy.seltzer.org/ +1.617.863.0613 (mobile)
