Hey All,
I'm excited to announce that Microsoft has published a draft proposal called PARAKEET, available at microsoft/privacy-preserving-ads/Parakeet.md (github.com)<https://github.com/microsoft/privacy-preserving-ads/blob/main/Parakeet.md> which intends to improve end-user privacy while retaining the ability for sites to sustain their businesses through ad funding.
The proposal covers a new set of APIs that remove the need for cross-site identity tracking, enables new privacy-enabling methods to support monetization, and maintains ad auction functionality and bidding within existing ad tech ecosystems.
We look forward to presenting the proposal during the upcoming March 2nd W3C Web Advertising Business Group call. We also encourage interested parties to open issues against the GitHub repository for any areas that need clarification or more discussion.
