Hi Tim, All, Quoting Tim Boland <frederick.boland@nist.gov>: <quote> Is there an opportunity in the template to provide additional documentation on the test case (perhaps this is covered under the "optional technical comment" tag?) Such documentation might be useful, particularly to the public, in providing additional information about the test case. For example, documentation might state how passing the test case is defined, and how passing the test case specifically satisfies the requirement stated in the referenced success criterion/technique (would test assertions be useful to express requirements?). Failure (diagnostic?) information could also be provided for the test case; such information may prove useful in future improvements and thus in possibly passing the test case at a later time.. </quote> The optional 'techComment' allows one to add additional technical information, if necessary. However, I'm a bit puzzled by your expression "passing the test case", because our test cases are not tests for web content. The test cases are examples of WCAG techniques and failures, and these contain "test procedures", which probably correspond to the "test assertions" that you mention. Is there a misunderstanding on my part? Regarding "failure information", the 'purpose' element should briefly say why the test cases passes or fails the corresponding success criterion. (In the BenToWeb project, we always write: "This test case is intended to pass/fail because ...".) What we don't have, however, is anything like an EARL report. We discussed this a while ago and there was no consensus on adding this. Does this answer your questions?
