I agree with Libby's suggestions.

For the Techniques definition I suggest we change the last word to 
"implemented" - or "satisfied and implemented"?  I don't feel that the word 
satisfied is quite descriptive enough.

It would read: Techniques are informative suggestions and examples for ways 
in which the success criteria of a checkpoint might be implemented.
