Re: Plugfest 2 Technical Discussion - Recording and Notes

Hello all,

As Sharon mentioned below, we updated the badge samples and created a couple of new ones. The examples illustrate the basic requirements for the plugfest badges, adding additional issuer properties, and embedding an image vs including the URL. You can find the examples here: https://w3c-ccg.github.io/vc-ed/plugfest-2-2022/#example-badges <https://w3c-ccg.github.io/vc-ed/plugfest-2-2022/#example-badges>

As you may note, we are using the Open Badges 3.0 Candidate Release and the context noted in the examples for Open Badges 3.0 is the one we expect you to use too (vs the one we used for plugfest 1): https://w3c-ccg.github.io/vc-ed/plugfest-2-2022/unsigned-badge-example-p2-embedded-image.json <https://w3c-ccg.github.io/vc-ed/plugfest-2-2022/unsigned-badge-example-p2-embedded-image.json>

You may use these examples for your demonstrations or you may create ones of your own.

There is an Open Badge WG meeting tomorrow at noon EST where the questions we’ve raised will be discussed. Please skim through and add your comments/questions: https://github.com/IMSGlobal/openbadges-specification/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A3p0+ <https://github.com/IMSGlobal/openbadges-specification/issues?q=is:issue+is:open+label:3p0+>

These questions are related to structure (string vs array), proof requirements, and required IDs at the VC and Achievement levels. We’ll update you on these questions when we know more.

I can’t believe we’re less than a month away from demo day. It’s been exciting to see all of the action!

Thank you!

Kerri

So I presume we can use the schema validator that we already use in our code (and that we insert into the credentialSchema property of the VCs we issue)
