Agenda and logistics for F2F

To the Working Group:

We are looking forward to the Face-to-Face meeting starting Monday at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time in Sunnyvale, CA. Those who arrive early will be able to get lunch in the cafeteria near the meeting area. Our thanks to Apple for graciously hosting.

For your travel preparation, attached please find the agenda outline, logistics information, parking information, and other details as aPDF. The site has breakout rooms available, if people wish to huddle privately. Also attached for your convenience is the Draft Framework for Discussion, as circulated this past Monday.

The online version of this page, which will be updated, is available here:

In terms of agenda, I’ll be updating the online version, but here are some main points:

Monday afternoon: Initial discussion led by Peter of the Draft Framework and goals for the F2F. Next, discussion of permitted uses, notably including market research and product development. The comScore Chief Scientist will present on market research, followed by questions and discussion.

Depending on time, we may begin discussion of “Item 6,” which includes the default topic and related issues.

Monday evening: We are planning on meeting for drinks after the meeting at a nearby bar. Dinner on your own.

Tuesday morning: TPE discussion. The current list discussion of Issue 194 is relevant, including Matthias’ post on Friday afternoon about questions for the F2F.

Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning: Deeper dives on issues in the Draft Framework. This approach will allow our initial discussions to put issues into a “parking lot,” where we can come back to a detailed discussion on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, as appropriate. Tuesday evening we do not have organized plans.

Wednesday afternoon: Importantly, we will have a session on “where are we now.” With Last Call due by July, we have to seriously assess by the end of the F2F whether we see a path to a consensusstandard.

There have been intriguing signs in recent days that we can really accomplish something at the coming F2F. I look forward to seeing you there,

Peter
