It has come to our attention that Peter Cranstone has been discussing with participants in the Tracking Protection Working Group US patent 8,156,206, claim #22, in relation to the Tracking Preference Expression specification. In accordance with section 7 of the W3C patent policy [0], we will follow the steps in [1], and expect to propose chartering a Patent Advisory Group (PAG) to W3C management. In the meantime, please refrain from discussion of the substance of this patent on the WG mailing list.
