Here is the agenda for tomorrow's meeting, as sent to those who have signed up: ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Wilhelm Joys Andersen <w@wja.no> Date: 2012/10/29 Subject: Agenda for the Browser Testing and Tools WG meeting, TPAC (Monday) To: w@wja.no Good morning! You are receiving this email because you have signed up for the Browser Tools and Testing WG meeting at TPAC Monday and Tuesday. The topic of the meeting will be the WebDriver specification, available here: http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/webdriver/raw-file/default/webdriver-spec.html All observers are very welcome to attend. The seats by the table are reserved for working group members, but there are seats along the walls that are up for grabs. There is a limited number of seats, so these will be available on a first come, first served basis. The meeting takes place in the room Roseraie 3, and will be minuted live to the #testing IRC channel at irc.w3.org:6665. Details on how to connect can be found here: http://www.w3.org/Project/IRC/ All attendees are encouraged to join the IRC channel. Interested parties who were unable to make it to Lyon are also welcome to listen in. A detailed agenda for Monday follows below: 09:00 - * A basic introduction to WebDriver for those new to the group, answering questions such as: - What is WebDriver and what can you do with it? - Why are we writing a spec anyway? - What is the relation between the spec and the open source project? - How can WebDriver be used by my other working group? - Also: demos! The spec editor and contributors will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have. * The state of the union. Where are we with the spec right now? * Why is everyone here today? What do we hope to get out of this meeting and the spec? Observers are encouraged to comment. 10:30 - Coffee break. 11:00 - * Discussion of the currently open issues in the spec: - Interoperability (the spec is very loose on this, but interop is vital) - Internationalised input (do we need the IME methods from OSS WebDriver? Our current solution is very desktop-centric) - Possibly adding an ARIA locator - Handling the shadow DOM - Do we use strings or numbers for status codes (there are arguments either way) - Identifying areas of the WebDriver spec that better belong elsewhere 12:30 - Lunch 14:00 - Continued discussion. 15:30 - Coffee break. 16:00 - Continued discussion. 17:30 - That ought to be enough for a day. The agenda for Tuesday will be sent after the end of Monday's meeting, pending progress and discussions from the first day. If you have any questions - practical or otherwise - feel free to ping me. I am available on IRC as wilhelm, on email or on telephone (+47 97723641). -- Wilhelm Joys Andersen Chair Browser Testing and Tools WG
