How do you annotate concepts with different types of XML content? 

Some use cases might be...

(1) "E=MC<sup>2</sup>" -- Text using XHTML for basic styling (superscript,
subscript etc.)

(2) MathML for complex mathematical formulas.

(3) Text or XHTML content marked up with Ruby annotations.

(4) Speech Synthesis Markup (SSML)
