Here is John's response to our comments. Since we didn't have any real requests for changes, I plan to accept the response unless I hear any objections by the end of Monday. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [css-fonts] comments from SVG WG on 11 July 2013 css-fonts-3 LCWD Date: Thu, 22 Aug 2013 18:27:06 -0700 (PDT) From: John Daggett <jdaggett@mozilla.com> To: Cameron McCormack <cam@mcc.id.au> CC: www-style list <www-style@w3.org> Hi Cameron, > 1. Tests for the CSS3 Fonts module are kept here: http://test.csswg.org/harness/results/css-fonts-3_dev/ Mozilla recently landed support for the 'font-variant-xxx' properties. These are preffed off in release builds but on by default in nightly builds. We have a large set of reftests for these, along with parsing tests for the new @rule's, @font-face and @font-feature-values. During the period before PR we will be working to convert these over to the test format used for CSS and contribute them to the CSS3 Fonts test suite. The work needed to convert these to SVG tests should be relatively trivial. > 2. I would agree, features related to the SVG-in-OpenType are out of scope for CSS3 Fonts but definitely worth considering for Level 4 of the Fonts spec or within other specs produced by the CSS WG, in conjunction with those writing the SVG-in-OpenType specification. > 3. Overall, the SVG WG is pleased with the specification and have no > other comments. Cool. Do these responses answer your questions/issues? Cheers, John Daggett
