I don't see a reasons to revert the changes right now especially since this is in the interest of web developers to harmonize the web world - a strong focus of SVG 2. I'd rather encourage other browser implementers to take another look at this point. The outcome of WebKit's attempt to implement is a realization that DOMPoint etc. would have to be complicated in order to make things work.
