I'm Roger Cutler from Chevron. I do not come anywhere near qualifying
as a subject matter expert either in the life sciences or the semantic
web. Very briefly, my background is theoretical elementary particle
physics, geophysical R&D and oil exploration, IT and Web technology. So
what the heck am I doing here? Well, I kind of hope to learn how this
kind of effort works in case something similar might be applicable to
the energy industry. I'd also like to try to recognize aspects of
what's going on that might cross industry boundaries.

This participation is something in the nature of an experiment. If it
seems not to be fruitful -- for example because I don't understand a
word anybody is saying -- I'll just drop out early.
