My name is Matthias Samwald and I am a PhD student from Vienna, Austria. I have a background in experimental neuroscience, but I have recently changed the focus of my studies towards biomedical informatics and Semantic Web technologies. I initiated the 'Semantic Synapse Project', which aims to provide Semantic Web ontologies and tools for information sharing and modeling in neuroscientific research. In the course of the project we will put an emphasis on networking with researchers, raising awareness of the uses and possibilities offered by these technologies. In my opinion, they have the potential to drastically reshape scientific culture and will significantly increase scientific progress.

kind regards,
Matthias Samwald
