Originally @6a6d74 and I were careful to only include stuff as best practice when we found evidence of real world use in production environments. This is explained in https://www.w3.org/TR/sdw-bp/#best-practice-criteria. Being 'widely used' was not a criterium, though. It's like the implementation requirement for new standards. They don't have to be widely used yet, but there has to be some place (or two or three) you can point at and say "look. it's being used there". I would still like to stick to the 'used in production environments' criterium.
