Onderwerp: Call for Participation: Spatial Data on the Web Working Group Charter Approved; Join SDW WG

Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
Cc Chairs for info,

The Director is pleased to announce the chartering of the Spatial Data on the Web Working Group:
    https://www.w3.org/2021/10/sdw-charter.html

The group is chartered through 4 October 2023.

The mission of the Spatial Data on the Web Working Group is to: (1) develop and maintain vocabularies and best practices that encourage better sharing of spatial data on the Web; (2) identify areas where standards should be developed jointly by both W3C and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

This Working Group will replace the Spatial Data on the Web Interest Group, which is expected to be closed soon.

Please use the following form to have your organization join the group.
The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants:
    https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/sdw/join

Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community.

The group chairs are Linda van den Brink (Geonovum) and Jeremy Tandy (Met Office). The Team Contact is Bert Bos, <bert@w3.org>, for a total of 0.1 FTE.

More information about the group can be found on the group home page:
