Hi SDWIG-ers, August was mostly a vacation month for me, but before I left I was working on adding the ability to browse feature data using the link template pattern that we have already established in MapML for tiles and images. Specifically, this means the addition of the link relation "features" to the vocabulary, so that it may be referenced from the hypertext engine <extent> element of a MapML document: You should be able to view this pattern if you "view source" on this HTML page: https://geogratis.gc.ca/api/beta/mapml/static/features.html I moved the project item from "To Do" to "In Progress" on our project page: https://github.com/w3c/sdw/projects/10 I need to update the MapML spec to include the "features" link relation. We have been thinking about how to allow this link relation / templated link to negotiate for GeoJSON responses. That does not seem too hard, because the feature model is similar to that of GeoJSON. What we need to think about is how those GeoJSON features would be represented in the DOM via a canonical transform or some pre-defined model that could be addressed by (author provided) CSS selectors. If you have comments or questions, I would be happy to try to answer them. I have asked to give a demonstration of MapML at the W3C developer meetup on Monday October 22nd at TPAC. If I am able to do that, I believe it might set the stage for a more productive breakout (working) session on browser collaboration on the Wednesday https://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC/2018/SessionIdeas . So far I've had no response, but fingers crossed. Perhaps François could put in a good word for us ;-).
