https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22691 Bug ID: 22691 Summary: Remove ByteString from WebIDL Classification: Unclassified Product: WebAppsWG Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: WebIDL Assignee: cam@mcc.id.au Reporter: w3-bugs@norbertlindenberg.com QA Contact: public-webapps-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-script-coord@w3.org The ByteString interface was added to Web IDL in order to make it easier to explain legacy behavior in XMLHttpRequest. I'd like to ask that it be removed because this legacy behavior is not a good model for new APIs, but having ByteString in Web IDL may lead API designers to adopt this model. The legacy behavior in XMLHttpRequest can be explained in the XMLHttpRequest specification. This topic is being discussed on this thread: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-script-coord/2013JulSep/thread.html#msg56 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
