Relation between course and web resource

Hi all

The College where I work has recently refreshed its course offerings, and the course events now appear in Google search results again as described in:
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=ind1505&L=WEBSITE-INFO-MGT&P=R3089&1=WEBSITE-INFO-MGT&9=A&J=on&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatches&z=4

If, for example, you search Google for hnc accounting:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=hnc+accounting&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&gfe_rd=cr&ei=40y3VvKrF9eFaKWkk1g

you may see a result which lists two events (out of three):

Pages - Course Details : HNC Accounting - Fife College
www.fife.ac.uk/student/courses/course/HCACC
This course is designed for those wishing to take up a career in Accounting and Financial Administration within a range of organisations. Both HNC and HND ...
29 Aug 2016 - 23 Jun 2017 Full Time Halbeath Campus ...
31 Aug 2016 - 21 Jun 2017 Evenings only and ... St Brycedale Campus …

What we call a course is an abstraction with the same title, description, content, entry requirements and so forth which can contain zero or more offerings which may have different start- and end-dates, modes of attendance, locations and so on (the XCRI information model).

It makes sense to us to publish one page for this “abstract course” which contains a table of offerings.

Now, I am not clear about the direction of discussion in this group, but it is possible that it may be tending to a separate web page for each “concrete course”, that is a separate page for each:

"educational course [as] defined as a sequence of events and/or creative works which aims to build knowledge, competence or ability of learners”

which would not be very efficient for our kind of College, which often runs multiple instances of the same “abstract course” simultaneously, in different locations (campuses, regions) or different years of entry.

This might also involve repeating identical content on different web pages, which I believe is contrary to search optimisation best practice.
