RE: Wide Review for Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) - Version 3 (no later than August 10, 2022 please)

Hello DCAT chairs,

Please note that according to [1]:

> Use public-review-announce@w3.org for general announcements regarding wide and horizontal reviews. However, note that sending an email to this list alone is not sufficient to trigger horizontal reviews. You will still need to formally request review from the Horizontal Groups, as described below.

Don't forget to file a request for I18N review. See [2] for instructions and go to [3] to file a request. Please do not wait until you're out of time. Although I obviously have seen this email, I will not file the request for you.

Thanks,

Addison

Internationalization is not a feature.
It is an architecture.

All,

DCAT is an RDF vocabulary designed to facilitate interoperability between data catalogs published on the Web.

We published a new version for wide review:

  https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/WD-vocab-dcat-3-20220510/

In this new version of DCAT, the main changes (compared to DCAT 2) to the DCAT vocabulary have been:

1. addition of spdx:checksum property and spdx:Checksum class to provide digest for DCAT distributions

2. addition of properties for supporting versioning, e.g., dcat:version, dcat:previousVersion, dcat:hasCurrentVersion, see 11. Versioning

3. addition of a dcat:DatasetSeries class and properties for representing Dataset Series, see 12. Dataset series

For full list of changes, see

  https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/WD-vocab-dcat-3-20220510/#changes

The Working Group plans to request Candidate Recommendation no sooner than 10 August 2022 and welcome comments prior to that date.

Let us know if you plan to provide a review.

Thank you,

Philippe
