I admit that headings, lists, tables sounds "too much" for a caption. But then, again: One of the changes from HTML4 to HTML5 is that the <caption> element can take exactly those elements. I am also pretty certain that, typically, the element - whatever its name - would not contain whether headings, list or tables ... -- leif halvard silli
