Richard, without going into the details of this specific issue: I am not sure you realized that there is a separate discussion going on on the very format of the profile file, see, eg, http://www.w3.org/mid/4C876919.10505@digitalbazaar.com and the resulting thread. That may affect this issue, essentially turning it moot...
