A way forward would be for RDF-WG to resolve to align to SPARQL 1.0 (or 1.1 - it's the same). The inconsistency between decimals syntax and doubles syntax issues needs sorting out, even if it's no action. But currently there isn't a simple grammar rule that can catch all numbers: it used to be that decimal + exponent was double.
