I don't have much time at the moment to comment on this thread in depth, so will attempt to do so later tonight. A couple of high-level points (these are personal opinion and what I've gathered from various online and offline discussions): - I believe that the RDFa TF and community would really like to work with Shelley and Philip to create -something- that unifies the RDFa processing rules across all HTML family languages. - I can't stress enough how open we are to comments, criticism, ideas and specifications that get RDFa deployed into other languages and simultaneously don't fragment RDFa. - There have been a number of offline conversations between myself, Sam, Shelley, Philip and the RDFa TF folks to attempt to get some idea of how people feel about what is happening right now. These were supposed to be personal conversations, but I fear that Shelley, Philip and Sam are viewing them as backroom dealing (even though I was attempting to just touch base with where each saw these initiatives going). Some of the threads turned into discussions we should be having in public. So, I think we're in agreement on these points: 1. We want to work with Shelley, Sam, Philip, HTMLWG, WHATWG and anybody else (individual or community) that would like to define RDFa in other languages in a way that doesn't cause incompatibilities with deployed XHTML1.1+RDFa. 2. We want to ensure that RDFa is not fragmented intentionally or accidentally. 3. We want these discussions to be open. I'll e-mail more specific points on Philips document tonight. -- manu -- Manu Sporny President/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. blog: A Collaborative Distribution Model for Music http://blog.digitalbazaar.com/2009/04/04/collaborative-music-model/
