Mark, I may have misunderstood. My understanding from Ben's mail is that
there is a difference that goes beyond the behaviour of @instanceof. In
Ben's mail:

he says:

and this is _regardless_ of the @instanceof behaviour. And your 'hanging
@rel' explanation did underline that there _is_ a difference. Did I get
it wrong?
